FUNDING FOR NEW RESEARCH COMMUNITIES

FUNDING FOR NEW RESEARCH COMMUNITIES

The programme aims to establish new, high-quality research communities and to help existing collaborations build on their work and secure long-term sustainable funding.

GW4 funds 60 research communities with a total investment of £1.9M. Projects cover a range of topics including water security, domestic energy, media and criminal justice, and religion and law.

These networks of expertise draw on each institution’s respective strengths and complementary research areas, harnessing our world-leading expertise to deliver high-impact research that we could not deliver alone.

A further round of Building Communities funds will open shortly. We anticipate to invite initiator applications but with greater emphasis on funding accelerator applications especially those that align with the Global Challenges Research Fund priority areas.

Revised guidance and further details will be announced shortly.
