NEW FUNDING ANNOUNCED FOR GW4 RESEARCH COMMUNITIES

NEW FUNDING ANNOUNCED FOR GW4 RESEARCH COMMUNITIES

This funding call builds on the substantial success of GW4’s 61 research communities, and brings the total investment in this programme to date to £1.9m. GW4 researchers are working together to address global and local challenges, from the production of biofuels in Cornwall to improvements in Alzheimer’s diagnosis that could have a positive impact on patient care worldwide.

Professor Nick Talbot, Chair of the Board for the GW4 Alliance and Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Impact at the University of Exeter, said: “The GW4 Building Communities Programme has invested over £1.9m in 61 multi-disciplinary research communities that are pioneering novel work and increasing our capacity in critical areas of health, societal and environmental fields. We are pleased to announce a seventh round of funding that will further support our existing communities whilst encouraging the development of new communities in line with the Global Challenges Research Fund priorities.”

The latest call for the Initiator fund requires applicants to focus their efforts on Official Development Assistance (ODA) compliant work, in line with the Global Challenges Research Fund. For more information, please see the Programme Guidelines.

The funding call is now closed.
