About the event
GW4 brings together the Universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter, combining world-leading research, innovation and expertise to deliver impact across local, regional, national and international communities.
At this online event, the four GW4 Vice-Chancellors will launch our new Research and Innovation Strategy: Collaborating for Impact, and set out our joint ambition to build world-leading regional and national capabilities in research and innovation.
They will introduce GW4’s new strategic priorities and explore how, by working collectively and with our partners, we can accelerate innovation-led growth, strengthen skills development, support current and future generations of talent, and create the conditions for research and innovation excellence to thrive.
With a geographical reach across two nations, our strategy focuses on research and innovation, people and talent, and the research and innovation environment, providing a unique framework for how we can combine our strengths to achieve greater impact.
Building our collective strengths
The event will showcase the strength and potential of the research and innovation ecosystem across South Wales and South-West England and highlight opportunities to develop existing partnerships and build new collaborations.
Building on strong foundations, our Vice-Chancellors will set out GW4’s ambitions in:
- Resilience and security
- The creative economy
- Universities as regional anchors
These ambitions will be underpinned by our cross-cutting strengths and capabilities in data assets and AI infrastructure.
