Management Knowledge Transfer Partnerships Conference

Project Summary

A Management Knowledge Transfer Partnership (mKTP) is a dynamic partnership between a business and a team of academic experts. The focus of mKTP projects is specifically on increasing effectiveness and improving results through better management practices. mKTPs are being used by a wide range of businesses in all sectors of the economy and right across the UK. Many universities have taken this opportunity to build impact case studies, enhance engagement with local small businesses, and create research incomes. The community used the Development Award to organise a one-day workshop for GW4 academics which facilitated interest and collaboration opportunities among parties in mKTP projects. The workshop involved external partners, including regional mKTP advisors, Set Squared, and non-GW4 academics with mKTP experience. The event has successfully created a community of both academics and professional KTP staff who share the interest and enthusiasm in boosting business schools’ engagement with local businesses.
