This networking workshop taking place online on Wednesday 14th July presents an opportunity for researchers from the GW4 Universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter to meet and share interdisciplinary ideas around the priority area of climate and health. The theme is intentionally broad to encourage ideas that combine perspectives from diverse disciplines, including (but not limited to) the arts and humanities, social sciences, and STEM.
The online event will feature guest speakers, networking across institutions, discussions around key themes in Climate and Health and a look at how can we make a difference. More information and the opportunity to join the GW4 Climate Alliance community can be found on theĀ GW4 Climate Alliance website.
Topics to be discussed in smaller breakout groups during the workshop include: nature-based solutions; health and environmental inequalities; non-human health; and big data/AI approaches.
Attendees will have the opportunity to apply for dedicated EPSRC Impact Acceleration Accounts (IAA) funding for cross-institutional projects, following the workshop. Projects must include research staff from at least 2 GW4 institutions, ideally should be inter-disciplinary, and must build on previous EPSRC-funded research. Further details and an application pack will be available nearer the time.
Project ideas that fall outside the scope of IAA funding, may want to consider GW4 Generator Fund community-building grants (call likely to open Nov 2021).
This event is funded by the EPSRC Impact Acceleration Account (IAA) at the GW4 Universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter.
This is an inclusive event. Research staff from under-represented groups and Early Career Researchers are particularly welcome.
