Cultivating Hope: Storytelling for Imagined Futures

Cultivating hope for the future is challenging when faced with complex problems and uncertain outcomes. Challenges such as climate change, disease treatment, or even space travel operate across multiple scales, affecting individuals personally while shaping societies more broadly. Their scale and complexity can feel overwhelming, leading to uncertainty and inaction. Storytelling is how we make sense of such challenges. Led by Dr Liam Lewis (Cardiff University), this project takes a multi-disciplinary approach to explore how storytelling can support researchers and communities with lived experience navigate complex realities and imagine more hopeful futures.
