GW4 AMR Alliance Networking and Bid Development Workshop for Early- and Mid-Career Researchers

Applications are now open to attend our one-day GW4 Antimicrobial Resistance Alliance networking and bid development workshop in central Bristol.

When: Wednesday 06 November 2024
Time: 10:00 - 16:30 (arrival refreshments from 10:00, with prompt start at 10:30)
Where: Watershed, 1 Canons Road, Bristol, BS1 5TX

This workshop is for GW4-based (Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter) early- and mid-career researchers (i.e. from postdoctoral researchers on the cusp of independence and seeking their own funding up to Senior Lecturers). All disciplines are encouraged to participate.

Alumni of the 2020 Crucible on ‘Interdisciplinary Approaches to AMR’ are particularly welcome to meet and network with new academic members of the AMR research community across the GW4 universities.

The workshop is aligned with the upcoming GW4 Alliance’s 2025 Generator Fund call (which opens in November 2024) and will be an opportunity to develop new cross-institutional collaborative AMR projects and communities.

The workshop will focus on:

  • Networking and facilitating new AMR research collaborations across GW4
  • Participants' presentations on their research interests with the opportunity to pose a cross- or interdisciplinary AMR research challenge and the disciplines needed to form a collaborative team to address the challenge
  • World café style round table discussions on topics/challenges (proposed by attendees) to scope new ideas for potential GW4 Generator and Development Awards, or other funding schemes
  • The current AMR funding landscape and opportunities
  • Careers panel discussion

There are some limited funds available to enable Penryn campus-based investigators living in Cornwall to stay in a central Bristol hotel on the evening of 05 November.

Places will be confirmed on 16 October.
