GW4 Director’s Update:
This month the GW4 Water Security Alliance held their annual conference. This year’s event focused on the need for interdisciplinary research in order to deliver water security. Collaboration is at the heart of GW4, so it was great to see so many attendees from different sectors come together to address shared challenges. The event also showcased our early-career researchers from GW4 Fresh CDT and WISE CDT. I had the pleasure of introducing their presentations and it was fantastic to hear about so many of their collaborative research projects.

I met more of our excellent ECRs at the GW4 Early Career Neuroscientists Day at the University of Exeter. The event is specially designed by and for those in the early stages of their neuroscience career. It is a great example of what can be achieved by GW4 students working together and a model we would like to see replicated in other areas.

We wish UKRI a happy birthday and I was pleased to attend UKRI’s one-year anniversary event which focused on the topic of innovation and cities. We were delighted to be included as a case study in Research England’s Delivery Plan. We look forward to continue working in partnership with UKRI and all the research councils to deliver world-leading research and innovation.
