GW4 Newsletter May 2019

Welcome to this month’s GW4 Newsletter: your regular digest of GW4 news, funding and development opportunities.

This month we held an initial workshop on climate resilience for researchers across the Alliance to share ideas and explore collaboration opportunities. The meeting was extremely timely with recent national and global events, including the Welsh Government and GW4 universities Bristol and Exeter declaring a ‘climate emergency’. We have identified ‘Climate’ as one of our key research priority areas based on GW4’s multidisciplinary expertise across the network and we were enthused to hear so many research ideas and themes emerge from the workshop which we will look to develop over the coming months.

This year GW4 celebrates its 5-year anniversary and as part of this our Director, Sarah Perkins, will be presenting to each University’s Senior Management Team, celebrating our considerable achievements and collaborations to date and sharing our exciting plans for the future. This month saw the first of these presentations, kicking off with the University of Bristol. Keep up to date with GW4 over the coming months to find out more about our anniversary plans and how you can help us celebrate.
