Thesis Boot Camp for Biosciences PhD students at GW4 universitiesFebruary 22, 2018
Thesis Boot Camp will take place take place from Monday 26th – Wednesday 28th March, 2018
This Thesis Boot Camp is dedicated solely to getting words down on paper (or a computer screen), to help you get over that final hurdle, or to kick-start your writing progress if it has stalled.
Sign up to join other graduate researchers in a no-excuses, no-time-for-procrastination, take-no-prisoners intensive writing retreat. Thesis Boot Camp recruits will learn how to battle through final-year blues, address writer’s block and overcome thesis fatigue to achieve significant progress on their manuscript.
Introductory sessions will include motivational talks, goal setting and strategies for writing quickly and well. Support staff will be on hand and catering will be provided to ensure an encouraging, distraction-free environment. Attendees will be required to complete pre-programme planning activities and to commit to their own tangible aims for the weekend, such as completing a thesis chapter draft or similar.
Are you up for the challenge?
This Thesis Boot Camp has primarily been set up for final year SWBio DTP students to help them with the thesis writing up process. However, we would like to make this fantastic opportunity available to other PhD students across the GW4. You will be joining other PhD students from across a range of disciplines across the biosciences; the majority of who will be in their final 6 months at the time of the Thesis Boot Camp. This will be a great opportunity to meet other PhD bioscience students across the GW4, and of which we hope will result in a supportive network for thesis writing beyond the Boot Camp!
