This project has brought together communities from across the South-West to establish how they develop new materials with biological and/or chemical function in order to transform the way that chemistry and biology can be combined to make devices for healthcare technologies.
New links have been established within and between GW4 institutions, as well as other UK universities and industrial companies. This initiative has stimulated a range of innovative research ideas and a number of multi-disciplinary projects have been set up.
Application to the EPSRC sponsored ‘Directed Assembly Grand Challenge Network’ to support the new consortia that have developed from this initiative.
A successful application was submitted for GW4 Accelerator funding.
