This is the third of a new series of career events exploring the regional strengths of the South West, open to postgraduate and early career researchers from the GW4 universities (Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter). Join us to hear from panellists working in medical and related research with a focus on health and well-being, most of whom conducted postgraduate research before entering the sector.
As a region, the South West has taken a leading role in developing medical advancements as well as health and well-being initiatives that have transformed lives over the last two decades. Examples include developing projects that demonstrate the benefits of the natural environment in aiding recovery from physical and mental illness, new approaches to delivering healthy living initiatives to vulnerable groups, and multidisciplinary initiatives incorporating the arts sector and gaming technology into well-being and recovery programmes. These are complemented by world-leading innovations in digital health and smart medical technologies.
The session will consist of short presentations from our panel, followed by an opportunity for questions, so this is a fantastic opportunity to start building connections with people working in, and passionate about, health, medicine and well-being. You will also have the chance to connect with PGR- and ECR-focused careers consultants from across the GW4 and ask us any questions you have as well.
