Sexual health and well-being are key to positive mental and physical health outcomes; the reduction of gendered sexual violence; and sexual equality. The new field of digital sexual health recognises the huge impact of digital technologies on sexual behaviour.
Our community investigates the largely unregulated explosion of sex-related technologies (sex-tech), from AI relationship software to sexual consent apps, and the risks they pose to sexual health and well-being. We bring together researchers in computer science, AI, digital health, psychology and sexuality to produce: a review of sex-tech products available in the UK; public guidelines on safe sex-tech use; a sexual well-being workshop for GW4 university students; and the first Centre for Digital Sexual Health and Well-being.
