University of Bath: Dr Philip Fletcher
University of Bristol: Dr Mark Jepson and Dr Rob Harniman
Cardiff University: Dr Anthony Hayes, Dr Thomas Slater (shortly to be joined by Professor Peter Watson)
University of Exeter: Dr Christian Hacker and Dr Corrin Liddle
Background
The GW4IN was re-established last year by the GW4 Research Infrastructure and Sustainability Steering Group (RISSG) with the purpose of mapping microscopy and imaging equipment resources across GW4 organisations and to improve collaboration, equipment utilisation and sustainability. At present, there are 7 GW4IN core group members.
To date, the group have undertaken an equipment mapping exercise across GW4 to identify relevant imaging equipment – spanning light microscopy, electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy – and associated expertise. The community have also organised an ‘inaugural’ GW4 Imaging Network day at the University of Exeter (with another to follow in Bristol), and established an online seminar programme for the GW4 imaging community.
An earlier iteration of this group was formed in 2014 and details of their original work can be found on the 2014 GW4 Imaging Network 1.0 page.
