AHRC/BBC RADIO 3 NEW GENERATION THINKERS 2021 APPLICANT WORKSHOP

The Arts Humanities and Research Council (AHRC) and BBC Radio 3’s New Generation Thinkers Scheme is a chance for early career researchers to cultivate the skills needed to communicate their research findings to those outside the academic community.

Cardiff University is holding an information session open to all GW4 institutions on 9th September 2020, 11:00-12.00. It will include an outline of the scheme, as well as advice from recent attendees, including Susan Greaney and Emily Cock, 2019 New Generation thinkers.

Applications for the 2021 scheme are now open.

Each year, up to sixty successful applicants have a chance to develop their programme-making ideas with experienced BBC producers at a series of dedicated workshops. Of these up to ten will become Radio 3’s resident New Generation Thinkers. They will benefit from a unique opportunity to develop their own programmes for BBC Radio 3 and a chance to regularly appear on air.

This scheme is open to current PhD/Early Career Researchers (see the AHRC website for eligibility).

For more information and to register to attend the session please email ahssresearch@cardiff.ac.uk.
