The way we die now

The way we die now

‘The way we die now - The over medicalisation of death in the 21st century’ is a public lecture taking place on 26th October in Bristol. The event is organised by the GW4 Alliance collaborative research community ‘The Value of Death Network’  with the aim of exploring the relationship of medicine to death and grieving.

Professor Richard Smith (former editor of the British Medical Journal and blogger) and Dr Jocalyn Clark (executive editor of the lancet) will interview three guest authors about ‘The Value of Death’ at this public lecture. Seamus O’Mahony, a physician and author of “The Way We Die Now”; Mark O’Connell, literary journalist and author of “To Be a Machine”; and Stephanie Nimmo, author of “Was This the Plan” who works with the charity ‘Together for short lives’.

There will be the chance to ask questions and comments. The Network would like to hear your views on death, something we will all experience.

All are welcome and tickets are free. Please register through Eventbrite.
