British Academy Early Career Research Events

The British Academy has partnered with The GW4 Alliance, to deliver the Early-Career Researcher Network in the South West of England. Together they are working, alongside nine partner universities in the region, to facilitate events and activities that will provide an opportunity for capacity building, knowledge exchange and networking.

The following events are open  to Early-Career Researcher's either regionally or nationally (please see individual events for more information)

Upcoming Events 

Early Career Researchers and Interdisciplinarity in the Medical Humanities - South West (21 Feb, Bournemouth University)  

This ECR-focused event brings together researchers in Medical and Health Humanities at Bournemouth from across the faculties of Health & Social Science, Media & Communication and Science & Technology, inviting them to highlight and address the main challenges of working within this varied and interdisciplinary field. It will feature an expert roundtable and open discussion, followed by breakout groups and opportunity for networking activity for ECRs.

Facilitated networking: Early Career Researchers in the Arts, Culture and Creative Economies (28 Feb, Design West, Bristol)

This ECR-focused event brings together researchers across disciplines within the Arts, Culture and Creative Economies. It will feature keynote talks from three inspiring speakers in these fields, a panel discussion, and facilitated networking conversations. The three speakers are: Dr Verity McIntosh (Virtual and Extended realities); Dr Tarek Virani (urban and urban dynamics as they pertain to culture and the creative and cultural industries); and Ms Sharon Clark (Professional and Creative Writing).
