Medieval Studies Mobilising Digital Humanities: Manuscripts Workshop

Date and time: 15th September 2025, 10:30-17:00

Location: Digital Humanities Seminar Room 1, Queen's Building, University of Exeter, Streatham Campus

We are delighted to announce the first workshop of the 'Medieval Studies Mobilising Digital Humanities' project funded by the GW4 Building Communities Generator Fund. Each workshop will focus on a particular aspect of digital technology and its application to Medieval Studies.

The first workshop is on the theme of 'Manuscripts'. Participants will be introduced to a range of methods and tools that can enhance the study of manuscripts, with the opportunity to gain hands on experience.

The aim of this project, ‘Medieval Studies Mobilising Digital Humanities’, is to develop and apply new methodologies for research in Medieval Studies using digital tools. The group's central research question asks how medievalists can benefit from methods and practices currently evolving in modern digital humanities scholarship.

To register, please download and complete this form and email to amy.jones@bristol.ac.uk by 27th August 2025.
