Mind the Gaps: Interdisciplinary Mindfulness Research

Mind the Gaps: Interdisciplinary Mindfulness Research

This two-day training event taking place from 18-19th July at Cardiff University will include presentations by experts in the field of mindfulness and mind-body practices, providing a practical experience of the topic, engagement with theoretical and analytic approaches of data, and plenary discussions emerging from the interdisciplinary element of the mindfulness field and the methodological issues that arise.

The interdisciplinary aspect entails: a) an approach from different or seemingly opposing disciplines but complementary regarding building knowledge and understanding of the certain phenomena, and b) problematising the own positionality of the researcher/practitioner/teacher which is commonly diverse.

Doctoral students from GW4 universities across different disciplinary backgrounds are invited to register and present their research at the event.

Costs:

The two-day event is free to attend with limited bursaries available. Visit the Eventbrite page for more information.

Prerequisites:

GW4 students will be asked to write a summary about their interest of registering, describing briefly their academic background and their current PhD research, as well as a statement on how they would benefit from attending the event.

Registration:

Please email your application statement to mindthegaps2019@gmail.com and then register for a place via the Eventbrite event until June 21st. There are limited places available and registration will be confirmed upon completion of these two steps.
