GW4 Open Research Week 2025

GW4 Open Research Week 2025

This year’s GW4 Open Research Week is taking place from 31 March 2025 – 4 April 2025 and will be led by the University of Bath. The week will celebrate the broad range of practices which make research more accessible, transparent, reproducible and visible.

The theme for this year is ‘Open Research: Open Culture’, with a series of events taking place across the week. All events are open to all GW4 academics, staff and researchers and are designed to showcase the benefits of open research, and ways to adopt open research practices across GW4.

All events are open to members of the GW4 Alliance universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter, with most also accessible to a wider audience, including those from institutions outside GW4, international participants, and members of the public with an interest in open research. Please see individual event listings for further details.

GW4 Open Research Prize – deadline 28th February!

The GW4 Open Research Prize, led by the University of Bath for 2024/25, forms part of GW4 Open Research Week.

The Prize is designed to celebrate and recognise the excellent work of researchers in making their research more accessible to all, thereby increasing its potential impact. This year we are expanding the prize to recognise the contributions of technical and research support staff who enable open research practices.

A prize of £250 in vouchers will be awarded to the best entry in each of the following categories: widening reach; improving quality and poster prize.
