Last month we opened our latest round of the GW4 Generator Fund. I encourage all collaborative research and innovation communities across the Alliance to apply for up to £20K. The funding can be used to develop new or existing ideas and help deliver a step change in world-class research and innovation.
I was delighted to attend the ICE South West Civil Engineering Awards Ceremony, along with GW4 Climate Alliance Manager, Gro Slotsvik. It was great to celebrate some of the fantastic civil engineering projects strengthening our region’s climate resilience.
This year has been another incredible year for GW4. We have so many achievements from the past 12 months to celebrate across our four universities and beyond. Some of my personal highlights include hearing from our research and innovation communities at the GW4 Generator Fund Showcase, meeting this year's GW4 Cubicle cohort, working with the Western Gateway on developing and mapping our region's Hydrogen Ecosystem, leading the British Academy ECR Network South West Hub, and further supporting our technicians with the new GW4WARD Collaboration Fund. We also strengthened our relationships with external partners including officially launching our partnership with the Western Gateway. Take a look at more of our highlights and share yours on twitter #GW4highlights2022.
As for next year, I am looking forward to continuing to advance our collaborative research and innovation, especially in our strategic research areas, to address the global challenges we face. We will also be celebrating our 10 year anniversary, so watch this space for more exciting updates on that!
For now though, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all colleagues for their hard work and commitment this year and wish you all a peaceful and enjoyable break. Merry Christmas.
