New GW4 film showcases the power of collective innovation across the Alliance

GW4 has launched a new film which spotlights the impact of the Alliance’s collaborative research and innovation, demonstrating how GW4’s regional strengths and strategic areas of focus are poised to tackle critical national and global challenges.

Bringing together the combined strengths and expertise of the universities of Bath, Bristol, Cardiff, and Exeter, GW4 works together with over 400 external partners including global businesses, research organisations, government bodies, and third sector organisations to develop new research, train future academic and industry leaders and develop innovative solutions, which recognise and build on our region’s strengths.

Our collaborative approach to innovation has garnered significant success, with GW4’s investment of £3.4 million in over 100 research projects, since 2013, generating £87 million in external research grants—a remarkable £25 return for every £1 spent.

The new film, designed to engage audiences from academia, business, and industry, highlights the transformative potential of academic partnerships, illustrating how the Alliance is tackling critical global challenges through its four strategic priorities: Advancing Health and Wellbeing, Cyber and Digital Transformation, Sustainable Net Zero, and Creative Communities.
