Lessons from X-CITED

It is important to the long-term impact of the X-CITED programme that we evaluate its success and are therefore able to make recommendations that can be transferred to other regions and disciplines. We aim to assess impact at individual, community and national levels, according to our Theory of Change model.

In collaboration with experienced colleagues working in the Department of Psychology at the University of Bath, we will establish a baseline and build on this with ongoing evaluation to iteratively develop the training and development opportunities available to RTPs through the Communities of Practice. The diversity of those involved in the programme means evaluation won’t be limited to RTPs themselves, but will be undertaken across industry partners, RTP managers and talent bank RTPs.

A final report and showcase will conclude the effectiveness of the X-CITED model to RTP visibility and recognition, detail findings on porosity of RTP roles between academia and industry and give recommendations for future schemes of a similar nature.
